Mesh filters: They are effective for water with little dirt, (materials of inorganic origin) The water is filtered by a mesh. Particles larger than mesh openings are retained in the filter.
Ring filters: Set of grooved rings that are compressed against each other forming a filter cylinder so that water passes through the small grooves between the rings, trapping particles larger than the grooves in the filter.
A drip irrigation installation requires a series of filters to separate the particles contained in the irrigation water since there is a risk of clogging of the emitters.
Types of Filters
Sand filters: It consists of a thick layer of siliceous sand contained in the filter, separating organic materials such as algae and thick particles.
Hydrocyclones: They are used when there are suspended sands, typical of deep wells, these heavy particles that contain irrigation water such as sand, is separated from the particles of water by the effect of the centrifugal force generated by the whirlwind, moving them towards the walls and subsequently falling into the tank located at the bottom.
